NWF Campaign Badges provide EcoLeaders with the opportunity to learn about and get directly involved with some of NWF’s most pressing campaigns and earn recognition for their efforts. These badges are intended to serve as an introduction to the EcoLeader continuous learning and leadership model.
Endangered Species Badge
Awarded to members who participate in actions that protect threatened or endangered wildlife, helping promote conservation awareness and advocacy.
Environmental Justice Badge
Recognizes members who support initiatives addressing environmental inequities and uplifting frontline communities.
Monarch & Pollinator Badge
Earned by engaging in programs that promote pollinator habitat restoration, biodiversity, and community science activities.
Plastics Reduction Badge
Celebrates contributions toward reducing plastic waste, encouraging sustainable choices, and supporting clean water initiatives.
Wildlife Crossing Badge
Recognizes participation in efforts that promote wildlife-friendly infrastructure and help reduce habitat fragmentation.
Once you've completed an EcoLeader project, you are ready to start the certification process! Our two EcoLeader Certifications provide a way to nationally recognize the impact of your projects and your personal leadership journey.
Certified EcoLeader Project Badge
This badge is awarded to project teams who complete an approved EcoLeader Project and submit the Project Certification application. It recognizes teams that have planned, executed, and documented a project using the EcoLeaders project framework, demonstrating measurable impact and clear leadership in environmental action.
Certified EcoLeader Badge
This badge is awarded to individuals who complete the full EcoLeader Certification process, demonstrating personal leadership growth built on their certified project experience. It recognizes members who complete all core requirements—including their EcoLeader Profile and EcoMission, core learning tasks, community engagement, project endorsement, and leadership reflections—showcasing their readiness for future civic and career opportunities.
