My Eco-Mission
I believe that native plants hold the answer for many different issues, ranging from pollinator conservation to stormwater management. My mission is to educate community members of the benefits of native plants and increase the number of native plant habitats in the City of New Orleans. As both a Louisiana Master Gardener and a UNO faculty member, I believe I have a unique set of skills and expertise that can be used to initiate these efforts on campus.Â
A secondary mission is to increase K-16 students' awareness of career pathways involving the environment and eco-sustainability. With this mission, my aim is to leverage my expertise in career development and career counseling in developing initiatives for students and professional development materials for educators.
