Our Project Overview
The University of Michigan-Flint Campus bird monitoring project gathers information about bird use and occupancy across the campus using point counts and automated recording units (ARUs). This is paired with systematic and incidental bird collision surveys to gain a better understanding of the campus buildings that are the greatest threats to birds in terms of bird window collisions. The goal of this project is to identify areas that require bird collision mitigation while also identifying opportunities to create better bird habitat across campus.
