Our Project Overview

Situated right in the middle of our beautiful town of Manitou Springs, a true pollinator hot spot, my plan is to join in on our community’s conservation efforts right here on campus! Through this Eco-School project, I want to transform our traditional garden space and two outdoor classrooms into vibrant areas where both pollinators and learners can thrive. By introducing native plants, shallow water sources, and student-built insect shelters, my goal is to create a safe, healthy haven for local bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Just as importantly, I want this shared space to give our students regular opportunities to step outside, practice hands-on environmental stewardship, and learn side-by-side with the amazing creatures that help make our world work.
