Project Goal Summary
In collaboration with Mutemwa Lodge, Foundations for Farming, and local Lozi community leaders, I will be applying the Living Building Challenge criteria to designing the Foundations for Life Training center in Western Province, Zambia. My goal to have a workable solution to this community center and a great case study for my graduate thesis in sustainable design. The project will enhance an interdependent relationship between Mutemwa Lodge and the local community. It will include the re-introduction of African wild animals to Sioma-Ngwezi National Park and the preservation and restoration of native hardwood forest. Both the lodge and the community center will house sustainable agricultural and micro-business research projects for Foundations for Life facilitators and locals to explore together.
