My personal mission is to reintroduce native species of plants back into the ecosystems they once inhabited. Cities and towns can use small plots of land that are otherwise unused to harbor a "food forest" for countless bugs, insects, and animals. By studying and planting native plants, we are able to find low-maintenance, low-cost, and high-yield solutions to the dwindling fauna and flora counts. We can begin small, such as a 10x10 strip of land separating the sidewalk from the street. This would be perfect for a row of native wildflowers. With the cost being so low to garden this area, the only requirement from the city would be to stop mowing.
