My Eco-Mission
My inspiration for my interest in protecting the environment happened when I was two years old, and I saw the film Free Willy. I spent my entire childhood exploring nature and revering all of her critters. I was able to impact guests as an environmental science education volunteer at the Tennessee Aquarium. I applied my certified interpretive guide (CIG) skills and Environmental Science degree from Kennesaw State University to create and deliver engaging and informative programs for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. I also have gained inspiration for Mother Earth through my experiences handling and caring for various wildlife species, including reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish, always ensuring their well-being and safety.
My love of animals extends to all types, and I made it my own personal mission to impact my local communities in a positive way. I have garnered over seven years of experience as a business owner, providing exceptional service to clients in the Chattanooga area, North Georgia, metro Atlanta, and now the Charlottesville area. I offer in-home housesitting for animals, as well as dog-walking, boarding, and 24-7 care. I have experience with many breeds of dog, cat, snake, turtle, small mammal, bird, and fish.
My passion for the environment was further expressed when I worked as a sales lead at REI, where I trained and mentored new staff about environmental initiatives, coordinated representing local non-profits such as Reflection Riding which has a mission statement to protect the environment, and promoted outdoor programs and outreach. I am passionate about environmental education, wildlife conservation, and guest engagement and education.
