Hello from Florida!

Hi everyone! I’m Kris, and I live on Florida’s Space Coast in what I like to call sea turtle nirvana, lol. We’re the largest nesting area for loggerhead sea turtles in the world, so it’s a pretty cool place to have the opportunity to call home.

I’m involved in sea turtle conservation (I mean, how could I NOT be living in Brevard County, FL?), environmental education, and community outreach. I’m a longtime educator and educational publishing professional, a children’s author, and a volunteer with the Sea Turtle Preservation Society. Much of my time now is spent helping children and families connect with the natural world and understand how the choices we make can affect all the beautiful plants and animals we share it with.

I also founded Turtley Yours, an environmental education initiative where I create free educational resources, blog posts, stories, and activities designed to make conservation accessible, approachable, engaging, and hopeful.
