Hello everyone,
I am a member of the Green Patriots at George Mason University (GMU). Currently, I am connecting with two local non-profit bike shops, Pheonix Bikes and Gearn' Up Bicycles, for Bike to Mason Day and to create a bike workshop.
Bike to Mason Day is where students, staff, and falculty, use alternative transportations, such as a bike to arrive to Mason. There will be bike tune-ups on campus, where people can get their bikes fixed, rest, and ask questions on bike maintanance.
For the basic maintanace bike workshops, students will learn about safe biking and how to check that one's bike is in good condition to ride. Furthermore, they will learn how to refurbish bike parts in forms of bike maintance and accessories.
These events will happen during Earth Month (April).
So far, Pheonix Bikes will be having a bike tun-up on Thursday, April 16 at 11a.m.-2p.m. at George Mason University (4400 Universiy Drive, Fairfax, VA, 22030).
I will let you all know the other date/times of the Bike to Mason dates/tune-ups and bike workshops.
