2. What were the goals for your project?
To educate students, faculty, staff, and community members of the sustainable resources that Clemson University has to offer to help them lead more sustainable lifesyles.

Yes. I was able to host an event to serve as a connection point for sustainable resources and individuals with great participation from my community! Participna

Pounds of recycling increased
What were the measurable outcomes of your project?
Other chosen- education. I was able to educate the community on an array of resources to help reduce their carbon footprint, increase social and environmental advocacy, increase philanthropy, reduce landfill wastes and increase recycling/reusage, source local foods, support local agriculture, get involved in campus policy, stormwater solutions, and health advocacy.
6. When did you begin and complete your project?
I began my project early January of 2015 and ended Mid-March 2015
7. What was challenging about your project and how did you respond?
It was very challenging to ask organizations and businesses to donate their time. I created this event at Clemson University to help fill the high need in sustainability education and advocacy on the individual level. I made sure to make that clear to all vendors to express the need for this communication piece in our community.
8. Which groups were involved in this project? Students, faculty, staff or community groups?
All of the above were involved!
9. Was your project funded? If so, how?
The project was funded by our student government only for the cost of tables. Otherwise it was a very cost-effective event.
10. How did you communicate about this project and educate the broader campus and/or community?
We used social media channels and our campus activities calendar.

I altered the event to include more connections between sustainable resources and the community. I am also applying to this certification to help this educational event succeed in the future!
13. What was the biggest or best thing you learned from your project?
Community is important because it can be a powerful force! The key to strengthening it is to educate it and watch it grow.
14. What advice would you give to others working on a similar project?
Don't be afraid to communicate with other and ask for things to be successful! Use what you know to help your project succeed!
15. Based on your response above, what are your future plans for this project? And are there resources (people, financial, etc.) available to sustain it?
Increase the amount of resources and participants, and to continue growing the success of my project until it is undoubtably a staple in my community.
