Ask Me About
Eco-Mission
My Eco-Mission:
As the head of the Council of Green Affairs at my school, New College of Florida, it is my goal to have our school be as sustainable as possible. Initiating and guiding projects using my school's green fee is my main priority, as well as aiding awareness of recently established initiatives, such as our new recycling program. I am currently cmpleting my undergraduate thesis on plant oil remediation.

My Fun Side
My favorite planet friendly activity is:
Recycling or compost. I love both equally, I think.
My favorite wild place is:
My favorite way to get outdoors is:
To take a walk through any part of nature, whether the woods or down to the bay we have at school.
On a More Serious Note
I am driven to make a difference in the world because:
It's the world we live in and the least we can do is make it a little easier to live in. Even after we're gone the plants and animals around us will have to survive the changes we've caused.
The greatest skill I bring to a team is:
I'm willing to listen to others ideas and come to a decision based on the facts presented.
My proudest moment working on community projects was:
When I helped our dining service be more sustainable, and I'm continuing to do so, even though we've changed contractors.
If I could change one thing about my community it would be:
The apathy that's so prevalent. Many want to make a difference but they feel like it's too much work or impossible.

Thanks for joining the community. Your profile looks great so far! Continue to take a look around and let us know what you think!
Also we have some great forum topics students have been using so far to bounce ideas off each other about their environmental projects. We are currently doing a contest within the community where you can win a amazon gift card for projects uploaded every Friday so if you have one to share we would love to see it.
I work for our Campus Ecology program at NWF to aide students in the southeast with their environmental and sustainability projects. If I can do anything to help you, let me know!
Thanks,
Eriqah
