I.  Job Summary
Are you passionate about recycling? Need to make a little extra cash? Become a part-time Canvasser in Hudson, CO, to help the Town increase their recycling participation rate! As a part-time Canvasser, you will combine your customer service and listening skills with recycling education. You will collect data, answer questions about recycling services and engage the public through door-to-door market research and outreach. Canvasser will also engage in data entry. Canvasser will be working primarily on weekends.
Canvasser must exhibit professionalism and a positive and enthusiastic attitude when directly engaging with the public about recycling, recycling service provider, and the Town of Hudson’s goals to increase recycling participation.
The position is in Hudson, CO. Canvasser will be working primarily on weekends.
 
II.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Communicate ideas and findings.
  • Distribute recycling education messaging through door-to-door canvassing.
  • Engage in door-to-door resident outreach to deliver survey and gather information.
  • Follow prepared scripts and talking points when engaging in conversation with residents.
  • Professionally represent Waste Management in the community.
  • Provide feedback on canvassing results to supervisor.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
  • Availability to work on most weekends from mid-January to early-April

The ideal candidate will live in or near Hudson, Colorado.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
A.  Education and Experience
Required: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred: Partial or completed college degree, at least six months to one year of canvassing experience
B.  Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
None required.
 
IV. Hours will vary and can be somewhat flexible. Most canvassing occurs on weekends during daylight hours and occasionally on week days during early evening. Data entry will occur during week.
 
V.  Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory duties.

VII.  Pay Rate
Hourly rate: $13.58 – $14.25
