Greenhouse for Elementary School

Project Goal Summary
I work at an elementary school in Falls Church, VA. I am the Outdoor Classroom teacher at the school. Currently, our school is under construction and the educational food garden, the pollinator garden, and other outdoor learning areas were destroyed because of this. I do not want to see the Outdoor Education Program shrink during this time and I am looking for creative and alternative ways to expand the program.
I am working with my school administration, other faculty, other school districts, and actors outside of my school to not only get a greenhouse on our school property but to get professional development training for other teachers and myself to effectively use the greenhouse in our lessons and to integrate it efficiently into our curriculum.

Project Goals and News
As of now, the greenhouse is up and plants are making their way to find their home inside of it.
We are currently working with faculty and staff to explore options for professional development and ways to integrate the greenhouse into our lessons.
We are turning to local schools that already have greenhouses at their school. So far the addition of this greenhouse has gotten much positive feedback from the community and parents. We are excited.
