Freenew: A student driven recycling solution
EcoTopic / Project Category
Consumption and Waste
Project Goal Summary
Freenew is a completely student-run recycling program that reduces the amount of useable waste that is doomed to a landill at the end of an academic semester. These items are then returned to students for free at the beginning of the fall semester.
Mission: To organize university student donations by creating a systematic trading operation for college communities to donate and trade usable items. It provides a method to collect useful items, which would have otherwise been sent to a landfill, and give the items back to the student body - at no cost - the following next semester.
