Project Goal Summary
No more bottles is a campaign developed by the Eco-Environmental Society, a student led organization at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. ξNo more bottles started as a research project about the environmental problems caused by bottled water and the knowledge of these by the student community. Receiving such impacting results and seeing the waste problems these bottles caused at the university, the former president of the group, Amira Odeh created the No more bottles campaign.ξ
Since it's creation in 2010, the campaign has expanded educational efforts all over campus and to other institutions in Puerto Rico. This project has also resulted in the installation of new drinking fountains for the campus, the sale of reusable bottles at the university, the development of leadership events and the creation of a developing proposal to take the finals steps that will significantly reduce the sale of bottled water at the UPR Rio Piedras.ξ
No more bottles is run by a group of dedicated students who look forward for the development of real sustainable actions at their university. Currently, the group focuses on action efforts to create the change they want to see as well as educational events for their own student community and for groups outside the university who are interested in the subject.ξ
